January 29, 2012
Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the Lord who made us."

- Psalm 95:6

Question of the Week
Reflection:  Today's Gospel compels me to ask myself if I really listen to the teachings of my priest every Sunday. In this Gospel, Jesus "taught with authority, not as a scribe." Do I listen to my priest as if he has authority to teach me, am I astonished by each and every homily, or do I really need to be? Over the years, we have been taught that the priest is Jesus' extension here on earth, that he teaches us and is guided by the Holy Spirit daily to teach Jesus' followers through the Gospels.

Daily Reflections (2 minutes) - Video NEW

Reflective Question:  Do I constantly need to be amazed by the Scripture's delivery to my ears? If so, why?

Faith Response:  During Mass I will listen and absorb the readings, the Gospel and the homily as delivered by my faithful brothers and sisters in Christ.
