Question of the Week
3 March 2010
Third Sunday in Lent

"Merciful and gracious is the Lord,
slow to anger and abounding in kindness."

- Psalm 103:8

Daily Readings

Sunday Scripture Readings and Gospel: Luke 13:1-9

Reflection:  Jesus seemed to feel Israel was not bearing the "Fruit" of the truth of God.  The "fruit" is our Spirit and we need mercy and time.  What "fruit" do we bear for out Lord?  Jesus shows us patience and mercy even when we become spiritually empty or lost.  He will wait for us, but we must care for ourselves and tend to our spiritual garden.

Reflective Question:  How can I graciously accept what I need to prune in my life?

Faith Response:  I will set aside special time to welcome the quiet and stillness so my Spirit can be replenished.  I will be grateful for the things God has given me.
